Are you searching the internet aimlessly for a new recipe to make? One that the whole family will enjoy? Well look no further, you have come to the right place. I will teach you our version of Tortitas de Carne Molida, and I promise you, it will be delicious.

Ingredients you will need are:

  • 1 lbs ground beef/chuck/sirloin (either would do)
  • 2 Potatoes
  •  1 tablespoon Parsley or Parsley flakes
  • ¾ cup  Goya Adobo all-purpose seasoning
  • Bread crumbs
  • Oil
  • Pan
  • place to flatten out the meat
  • ½ a white onion
  • 2-3 eggs
  • Corn Tortillas

Side dish “salad”:

  • 2 Roma Tomatoes
  •  ½ white Onion
  • 2 Limes
  • Hot pepper (any one you like)

Get the breadcrumbs out and ready, put them on a plate. It’s okay if you use up all the breadcrumbs on the plate, just make sure you have extra in case you run out later on. You can use any breadcrumbs you prefer.

Take a plastic bag and cut it into a circle, keeping both sides. This will be used to press the meat into little patties.

Step 1:

Take out the defrosted meat from the package and place it in a mixing bowl. Add the Seasoning: Goya Adobo All Purpose Seasoning and Parsley or Parsley flakes

Note: If you don’t have Goya Adobo All purpose seasoning you can just substitute it with salt and pepper

finely chop half a white onion and add it to the bowl

Mix the ingredients in the bowl together using your hands, make sure everything is well mixed

Step 2:

Take 2 medium-sized potatoes and put them in the microwave until cooked

To tell if a potato is cooked, check on it every few minutes by sliding in a fork, if it goes in smoothly, then its ready. However, if you have to force it in and the potato is still hard, it’s not ready.

Once the potatoes are cooked, take them while they are still hot and peel them. Put them under cold water to peel them, be careful not to burn yourself.

Next, mash the potatoes, you can use a fork to simply mash them. Once the potatoes are mashed, put them in the bowl with the rest of the ingredients. Then once again mix everything in the bowl until well combined, using your hands.

Crack two eggs and add it to the bowl, this will help the meat hold together. ( we are going to need to roll the meat into balls in the next step, it is important that it stays together, if it is falling apart, then add one more egg)

Step 3:

This would be a good time to start heating the oil, you want to put enough oil to fry the patties. At least an inch deep.

Take the meat and roll them into little meat balls, we don’t want them really big when we press them into patties. Once all the meat is rolled, take the plastic bag and put the ball of meat in between the two layers. You can either use a plate on top of the plastic, or use your hand to press the meat.

Once you flatten the patties, carefully coat them in the bread crumbs and place in the hot oil. Repeat until finished with all the meat. Once finished serve with tortillas and the side dish, this will be a big hit with the family.

Side Dish:

To make the side dish, which is like a salad you need to :

Cut 2 Roma tomatoes into slices and put them on a plate. Take half an onion, and slice it, don’t chop it. Then take your hot pepper, in the case we are using serrano peppers. You can use any hot pepper you prefer in this case. After you add the hot pepper, take 2 limes, slice them in half and squeeze the juice over the sliced vegetables.

Hopefully you enjoy making this recipe, my husband and I love this dish. Its convenient and easy to make, with of course, a little bit of work with it, but hey, what dish doesn’t require some work? If you have any questions, leave a comment down below. See you next recipe 🙂
